I started doing pottery at night classes over 40 years ago and am still learning after all these years. Each piece is individually handmade for practical and functional everyday use
I like collecting local clays to make slips (liquid clay used to decorate pots) and also make my own glazes, preferring the earthy natural colours from nature. I mostly fire the glazed pots in a wood fired kiln in the garden. In contrast to this I enjoy the spontaneity and social side of firing my Raku kiln with friends and anyone who wants to join in
